Mug - Yellow Magnesium Matte
This glaze gets its colour from a combination of iron, titanium and zirconium whilst the texture comes from a magnesium based glaze paired with specific ratios of silica and alumina.
The mottled colour effect is the result of crystal growth in the cooling down stages of the firing whilst the dark speckling comes from iron in the dark stoneware clay body which has bled through the glaze due to a reduction fired atmosphere.
